The half mirror

image

Staring at me,
that is I—
appeared in moonlight,
to glimpses of me—
my other half!

Is it nature that desires more,
nor nurture that plunk more?
me in one nature—
drawn in two figures,
the half me, the half I!

Broken to the other half,
nightly amalgamation of me;
nature calling me for renewal—
and oh, the other half is ugly,
with the other so beautifully coined in million enchantments.
